Campsite near the Charente Maritime islands

L'Océan campsite is in the perfect location for exploring the Charente-Maritime islands.
It has views of the Pertuis d'Antioche strait formed by Ile d'Yeu and Ile d'Oléron. But they're not the only islands you can visit during your camping holiday in Châtelaillon.

The Charente archipelago includes :

  • Ile d'Aix, visible from Châtelaillon beach
  • Ile d’Oléron, opposite Marennes
  • Ile de Ré opposite La Rochelle and
  • Ile Madame, the smallest island opposite Port-des-Barques

Use your island trip as an excuse to walk, cycle or go horse riding as you soak up their history for one day or more during your stay. The smaller Ile d'Aix is teeming with historical gems such as the Napoleon Museum and Fort de la Rade. There are cruises so you can spend a day here and get up close to Fort Boyard on the way.

Set aside one or two days for an amazing journey along the Atlantic coast and drink in the natural beauty and historical relics of these timeless and vibrant places. Get yourself a bike and fly like the wind along bike paths winding around the beautiful islands near the campsite.
